Weaving Magic

On the 11th August, I will be attending the opening of a toilet door. Tanya Plibersek (Federal Member for Sydney) and Lord Mayor Clover Moore are coming too.

Obviously, this is no ordinary door but rather the new home for Weave, a non-profit community organisation that has been empowering people who have experienced issues relating to mental health, homelessness, depression, addiction, generational trauma, poverty and justice for over thirty years.  And they are really working wonders in the Women & Children’s Centre and the Kool Kids Club (feature image).

The last six of those years has also included lobbying to local Government have the old WC at Fernside Skate Park, Elizabeth Street, Waterloo transformed into what is now a state of art facility for the 2000+ people they assist.

The new home of Weave Youth Family Community will launched at Fernside Skate Park, Elizabeth Street, Waterloo. The above dignitaries will be on hand to officially launch the new building and along with the formalities, will be celebration including skating displays and giveaways, food stalls, music ….and a BBQ for 500 people with love from Clover!

Here’s a bit more on Weave’s magic in our community.

  1. The day was a great success…the weather was “challenging ” but the launch went ahead with many on hand to share in the festivities. Thanks to all involved and here’s to a bright future for WEAVE and the wonderful community it serves!
