Just met up with my good friend Carmen who volunteers her time to this fabulous and awesome community grass-roots social movement – Mums 4 Refugees (www.mums4refugees.org.au).
An inspiring and aspiring organization of volunteer mums dedicating their time to help and support asylum seekers and refugees, offer opportunities for people like me to ‘do their bit’ and bring about conversation about the status quo of asylum seekers and refugees.
Today’s catch up was #operation happiness, gathering some things to help a middle eastern family being settled in the community make their new home a home; in particular things for a 6yr old girls bedroom: wall pictures, soft toys, a doll’s house and some puzzles just to name a few.
Please follow the link and check them out, they are a bunch of amazing women aiming to make a difference to the lives of families, women and children irrespective of their plight. After all isn’t every human deserving of opportunities that increase their self-worth and give them a sense of purpose and belonging?
